The Global Harbor Cities Forum is a platform initiated by Kaohsiung City in 2016 for harbor city leaders to discuss innovative solutions, share practical experiences, and align ourselves for tackling complex issues of harbor cities. The second Global Harbor Cities Forum, has centered on the theme Here and Beyond-Forces affecting our future, with the ambition of finding ways to catalyze the advancement of sustainable development, smart technology, new ventures, and global connections.
The Mayor’s Roundtable hosted by Mayor of Kaohsiung City, Li-Ming Hsu and under the chairmanship of Chairman of Ocean Affairs Council, Hwung-Hweng Hwung, have shared useful experiences, urban solutions, and policy-making process that are pivotal in harbor cities. Through these discussion, we have acknowledged the irreplaceable role of harbor cities in future human development, and the following challenges and opportunities.
