The Ocean Affairs Council aims to establish directions for the dissemination of information on marine scientific research and survey activities conducted by central and local government agencies under the Executive Yuan, either independently or with funding, permission, inspection, or review. These guidelines aim to enhance the acquisition, management, and utilization of data from such activities to promote the development and dissemination of marine scientific knowledge. Therefore, the "Directions for Marine Scientific Research and Survey Activities and Marine Survey Data " were established on December 25, 2023, and forwarded to relevant agencies and local governments for compliance.
