The purpose of this Act is to integrate the efforts of various ministries to promote the marine industry, clarify the categories of the marine industry and responsibilities for relevant authorities, and enable government departments to perform their respective duties in providing effective guidance to industry practitioners and promote their development. The Act also requires the Ocean Affairs Council to regularly inspect the regulations and implementation of subsidies to the marine industry by central authorities, emphasizing that government subsidies to industries must consider the value of sustainable ocean development.
