In reference to the UN’s 2021 “World Oceans Day” theme “THE OCEAN: LIFE AND LIVELIHOODS and with “Island and Sea Co-prosperity in an Endless Succession” as the core concept, the government’s marine policy implementation results were demonstrated during the 11-day “Second National Oceans Day” activity series from May 29 to June 8, 2021 to enhance the general public’s knowledge about the ocean. However, due to the level 3 COVID-19 alert introduced across Taiwan in May 2021, the celebration activities supposedly to be held on June 8 were cancelled. Instead, the implementation results were displayed online and via media publicity. The “Taiwan Ocean Youth Forum”, the “Keelung Island Canoe Challenge by National Taiwan Ocean University Graduates”, and the “National Museum of Marine Science & Technology-2021 Hi The Ocean” activities were held as online activities instead.
