The 2025 Taiwan International Ocean Forum was held from July 2 to 3, bringing together experts from government, industry, and academia across 15 countries. Participants included current parliamentarians from the United Kingdom and Japan, leading think tanks and officials from the Indo-Pacific region, who engaged in discussions on key issues such as strengthening maritime security in the Indo-Pacific and advancing the blue economy. The forum drew an audience of more than 200 attendees. This year’s forum was held on an even larger scale than before. Following last year’s inaugural arrangement where international guests met with the Vice President, this year’s forum was marked by President Lai Ching-te personally receiving the foreign delegates, underscoring Taiwan’s strong commitment and determination toward advancing ocean policy.
