The 6th National Oceans Day Series of Arts and Cultural Events were held on June 8, 2025, at the Kaohsiung Music Center’s Hi-Ing Music Hall. The event featured a diverse lineup, including marine-themed theatrical performances by the Paper Windmill Theatre Troupe, Taiwan Ballet Company, and Taitung Shang Dance Academy, alongside a lively marine market and the Ocean Waves Stage. Centered on marine culture and the arts, the festival also echoed the 2025 United Nations theme, incorporating elements of Taiwan’s rich maritime heritage. The program aimed to cultivate public appreciation for marine aesthetics, and achieve Taiwan’s vision as a maritime nation. This year’s celebration drew approximately 4,723 participants from government agencies, local authorities, industry, academia, civic groups, and the general public across all age groups. The event not only highlighted the government’s policy achievements but also fostered greater public awareness of ocean sustainability. Through marine theater and cultural showcases, it promoted ocean literacy, reinforcing the goal of building a sustainable future for Taiwan’s seas.
